1. Project Overview
For this college project, we were asked to redesign the website for Drakensberg Sun Resort — a luxury mountain getaway in KwaZulu-Natal. The existing site felt a bit outdated, so the goal was to give it a fresh look while making it easier for visitors to explore what the resort has to offer.
The redesigned site includes five main pages: Home, About, Activities, Accommodation, and Contact. Each one was designed to better showcase the resort's atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and relaxing experiences. I focused on improving the layout, simplifying navigation, and making sure everything worked well across devices.
2. Main Design Changes
🌅 Modern Visual Style - Replaced the outdated layout with a clean, minimal design using white space, grids, and modern image presentation.
🔤 Consistent Typography - Improved readability with better font choices, clear heading hierarchy, and consistent spacing.
🧭 Simplified Navigation - Cleaned up the menu, grouped related items, and highlighted active pages for easier browsing.
♿ Improved Accessibility - Boosted color contrast, increased font size, and enhanced button visibility for a more inclusive experience.
🔽 Stronger Visual Hierarchy - Used bold headings, clear sections, and consistent layout to guide the user's attention.
🎨 Brand Consistency - Applied a unified color palette, buttons, and icons to match the resort's relaxing, natural vibe.
